People take part in a demonstration in Paris, France, on October 6, 2026, as part of a nationwide day of actions called by high-school students, joined by unions and teachers. The group has been demanding better learning conditions in protests punctuated by violent confrontations. Students have blocked the entrances to hundreds of high schools for 15- to 17-year-olds since late September, citing missing teachers, overloaded timetables, dilapidated classrooms and buildings that cannot cope with rising temperatures.
